Marion County has long been known for its rich history in the Agricultural Industry dating back to the 1860’s. In more recent history, the Ocala Steer Show officially began in 1941. Today, the Southeastern Youth Fair event has evolved into the largest all Youth Fair in the State of Florida and came along in 1978. Over 200 local volunteers provide over 4,000 hours to the SEYF and supports students involved in FFA organizations and 4-H clubs.
The FFA and 4-H club help students achieve academic and personal growth, strengthen American agriculture, and provide leadership to build healthy local communities and a strong nation.
Since 2004, Daniel L. Hightower, a local Marion County lawyer, businessman and working cattle ranch owner has been a proud supporter of The Southeastern Youth Fair.
